Privacy Policy – Rent To Go

1. Who is responsible

RentToGo, Surat, Gujarat, India decides how and why the personal data described here is used. Contact: [email protected].

2. What we collect

When you browse

• Taps on Call, WhatsApp or Share for a listing, with the page, the campaign that brought you (for example a link's utm tags), a random visit id kept only in your browser tab, your browser type and a one-way scrambled form of your internet address. We use these to count the enquiries we send each shop and to filter out automated traffic.
• Standard server and security logs kept by our hosting and security providers.

When you write a review

• Your mobile number, which we use to send a one-time code and to stop duplicate or fake reviews. It is never shown with your review.
• The name you choose to show, your rating and what you write.

When you chat with support

• Your messages, and the name and mobile number if you choose to give them.

Rental shops (Vendors)

• Business name, area, owner's name and mobile number, and the contact numbers the shop agrees to publish, with a record of that agreement.
• If the shop uses the RentToGo Partner app, the details and documents it submits there.

3. Why we use it

• to run the directory and show listings;
• to let you contact shops, and to tell shops how many enquiries came through RentToGo;
• to verify reviewers and keep reviews genuine;
• to answer support requests and deal with complaints and fraud;
• to keep the Platform secure and meet legal obligations.

We process your data on the basis of your consent when you give it to us for these purposes, and where the law otherwise allows. You can withdraw consent at any time (see section 7); this does not affect what was done before.

4. Who we share it with

• The rental shop you contact receives your call or WhatsApp message directly from your phone; we do not pass them your details.
• Service providers who run parts of the Platform for us: hosting and storage, WhatsApp/SMS delivery of one-time codes, email, and website analytics that do not use cookies.
• Authorities, where the law requires it or to prevent fraud.

We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising.

5. How long we keep it

• Enquiry (tap) records: up to 3 years, to report enquiries to shops; the internet address is stored only in scrambled form.
• Review accounts and reviews: while the review is published, and up to 1 year after you ask us to delete them.
• Support chats: up to 2 years.
• Vendor records: while the shop is listed, and up to 3 years after, unless the law requires longer.

6. Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections and stored with access limited to our team and providers who need it. If a breach affecting your data happens, we will inform you and the authorities as the law requires.

7. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to show, correct or delete your personal data, withdraw your consent, or name someone to act for you, by writing to [email protected]. Shops can ask us at any time to remove their number or their listing. See also Delete your account. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

8. Cookies and storage

See our cookie notice. In short: no advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Children

The Platform is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

10. Grievance Officer

11. Changes

The date at the top shows when this policy last changed. We will highlight important changes on the Platform.
